Do you know how many Prophets died to bring us the words of the Lord as found in the Bible, Book of Mormon, and Doctrine and Covenants? Many, many of God’s servants have laid down their lives in the effort to preserve His word so that the people would not be lost like the people of Zarahemla. They didn’t have the Brass Plates that God preserved for the Nephites. Because of that, they lost their language and any knowledge of the Lord or His words. We learn just how important these things are in 1 Nephi 19:3-4:
I Nephi, received a commandment that the ministry and the prophecies, the more plain and precious parts of them, should be written on these plates; and that the things written should be kept for the instruction of my people, who should possess the land, and also for other wise purposes, which purposes are known unto the Lord…And this have I done, and commanded my people what they should do after I was gone; and that these plates should be handed down from one generation to another, or from one prophet to another, until further commandments of the Lord.
In the modern Church we are taught that the words of the living Prophet are more important than the word of the dead Prophets. Imagine that! Father in Heaven directly spoke to countless prophets in the past, and gave them instructions, which He had them write down. He did that to preserve His people in the last day. He did that so we would have the rock on which to stand…so we can read His actual words. The blood of Prophets was spilled by the wicked, because they sought to hide these truths. Now, the Church that Joseph Smith restored rebels against the Sacred Records that have been brought forth out of the dust, while elevating one living, imperfect man to the sole responsibility of leading the Church. Do you understand how that is the exact recipe for being led astray! Do you not see that you have firmly planted your feet on shifting sand, instead of the rock that the Lord has given us?
The Iron Rod IS the word of God. We cannot just erase all the Lord has revealed in the scriptures.
The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints needs to repent. All the people, who have lifted President Russell M Nelson up as more important than the dead prophets are rebelling against God, and will not be held guiltless at the last day. You have made yourself an idolatrous people, and built yourself a Golden Calf to worship – a man made of flesh and bones, who is as imperfect as other Prophets that have fallen astray in history. We must remember that the Lord says in 2 Nephi 28:31:
Cursed is he that putteth his trust in man, or maketh flesh his arm, or shall hearken unto the precepts of men, save their precepts shall be given by the power of the Holy Ghost.
In the Joseph Smith Translation, there is a powerful warning to the people of the Church:
Mark JST 9:42–47:
42 And again, if thy foot offend thee, cut it off; for he that is thy standard, by whom thou walkest, if he become a transgressor, he shall be cut off.
43 It is better for thee, to enter halt into life, than having two feet to be cast into hell; into the fire that never shall be quenched.
44 Therefore, let every man stand or fall, by himself, and not for another; or not trusting another.
46 And if thine eye which seeth for thee, him that is appointed to watch over thee to show thee light, become a transgressor and offend thee, pluck him out.
47 It is better for thee to enter into the kingdom of God, with one eye, than having two eyes to be cast into hell fire.
The philosophy of men that a Prophet cannot lead you astray is false doctrine. It also violates God’s Law of Free Agency. Thus saith the Lord, Repent ye, Repent ye, for the Kingdom of Heaven is nigh. The Lord is coming in His vengeance, and the righteous He will gather from the four ends of heaven and earth.
